Three sites, one idea: the standings tell you a team's record, but not how long the fans have been waiting.
Each WNBA conference has its own tracker, and this site ties the two together. The conference sites hold the detail: schedules, results, box scores, weekly recaps and head-to-head records. This one holds the league-wide view, including all 15 teams ranked by how long since they last won.
The number counts calendar days between a team's most recent win and today. A team that won yesterday reads 1. A team that won earlier today reads 0. Preseason games are ignored. Regular season and playoff wins count, and so does the Commissioner's Cup final, even though the league leaves that game out of the standings. If a team has not won yet this season, the count reaches back into previous seasons to find their last one, which is why numbers can run into the hundreds in May.
While a game is in progress, scores refresh about once a minute. On game days, meaning any time a game is within twelve hours, everything refreshes every five minutes, and every thirty minutes otherwise. A finished game updates the score, the record, the standings order and the drought counter at the same time.
Scores, schedules, box scores and conference order all come from ESPN's public WNBA data. Conference position reflects the WNBA's own tiebreakers rather than a simple win percentage sort, so two teams with matching records appear in the order the league ranks them. Tip-off times are shown in local time at the arena.
